Me110 crews killed on 20.04.1941 at Megara, Greece.

Hi,

Can someone provide any info. about the Me110 crewmembers that were shot down on 20.04.1941 at Megara airfield in Greece ??
Only one name is visible on a photograph: Uffz. Franz Beckel, born 20.07.1920.

Cause of incident, unit and variant of plane??

Warmest regards,
Jagdkomm.

Hello jagdkomm,
the incident your looking for occurred when Ofw Georg Leinfelder ( pilot )
was shot down by Hurricanes over Piraeus, crashing at Megara.

Messerschmitt 110E 3U+FN W.Nr 4272. both crewmen killed.

Best regs,
Steve.

Hello,

It was most probably shot down in combat with Hurricanes from 33 or 80 Squadron. Both these units were bases at Eleusis at the time.

Best wishes/Håkan
