hello
one of the members of the crews was able jumped but was taken by the "resistance" was coming to the ground, by the group "judex". others are killed in the crash. the plane was long on the ground, and nearby residents dressed with canvas parachutes. there is a story in the book "the air warfare in the department of Ardennes vol3." the crew can be based in Noyers Pont Maugis I have a name: Müller Uffz? very common name danke Joel |

Re: Reload this Page He 111 crash on November 24 1944
Joel, the S3+GL crashed 15 miles S/W of Reims on 1-1-1945 but no Uffz.Muller in the crew would this fit in to your one lost south of Reims. The S3+CH included a Bw Uffz. Walter Muller but he and his crew were taken prisoner following a crash landing 4 miles north of Nantes on 23-2-45 ,

Re: Reload this Page He 111 crash on November 24 1944
ULTRA mentions that two TGr. 30 aircraft went missing on 24 November: He 111 H-6 W.Nr. 8542 and H-16 W.Nr. 166309. That first W.Nr. is almost certainly a typing error (at the German end) as 8543 is among aircraft listed on the Gruppe's strength on 23 November.
An Uffz. Müller, Walter was the gunner in a TGr. 30 Heinkel posted missing on 24 February 1945 but as people have said, it's a very common name. |

Re: Reload this Page He 111 crash on November 24 1944
it is stated in the book "la guerre aérienne au dessus des Ardennes vol. 3" Francoise and Pierre Roger.
the He111 Bogny sur Meuse served as "pots" to the local population and the bodies of soldiers have not all been collected, but much later. @ + Joel |
