Re: 4./NJG 100 on 04/05/1945
Bonjour Michel
Apparently NO CLAIMS recorded on the 4th May 1945 (see pg.305) in ETO on this day https://www.afhra.af.mil/Portals/16/...090601-121.pdf LAST claim on MTO is recorded on the 24-04-1945 (pg.340) So....maybe AA fire was the cause? Adriano |

Re: 4./NJG 100 on 04/05/1945
Could you post or add the claimants (name, rank, unit) here please Chris?
Who made the claims and why they are not on the official list of victories of the US Air Force? Maybe RAF? |

Re: 4./NJG 100 on 04/05/1945
Thanks Chris.
Michel: For the claim (without firing) of 1/Lt Gremillion I suggest you pag.168 of the book "Aerial Reconaissance" by Tom G. Ivie, which describe that the Ju 88 belly-landed on seeing the F-6 Mustang. It was reported as being a "cream-colored Ju 88" "...with black crosses on the wing and a Swastika on the tail". I can send you the relevant scanned page you need. A. |

Re: 4./NJG 100 on 04/05/1945
Just for curiosity...the "Official" list of claims do give Gremillion a sole claim but on 04-04-1945 (not on 4th May), on page 83 and pg.300 of the relevant PDF file.
So, maybe he was NOT officially credited with the victory on the 4th May 1945.... |

Re: 4./NJG 100 on 04/05/1945
The source is the late Frank Olynyk's magnus opus which states 1030hrs on 4 May 45 and with the war going for another 4 days, I wonder if anyone recorded the details of these losses
