Somehow I get the impression this "album" is made up from original parts but is not an original album.
Much is lacking which would characterise a WW2 album such as written captions and descriptions, the rim of the photos, etc.etc.
Remind me somehow of of "Hitler´s Diaries"...

Regards

Roland

Hallo Roland,

Having had an genuine WW II Photo album in my hands of an 1943 deceased U-Boot crewmember, I can only testify that the first few pages of his album had some very sketchy captions, and the large majority of the pictures were captionless because glued after his death but still during wartime by his grieving family.

Maybe we have a similar case here?

Franck: volontiers!

Cheers

Right! We can suppose, too, this "Kennkarte" has been done after the end of the war. The pilot(? if it's the same person) being in civil dress on the picture and there is no "Reich" or "Nazi" symbol on this card. It's a "war album" including personnal belongings.
Where did II./JG27 surrender? Western or Eastern part? Finaly this man was lucky enough to end in one piece on the "good" side.
Cheers, Franck.
