Hi Oliver, I can't recall if any published photos clearly show 110800 Engler's White 7, but I was able to see it quite plainly in private photos, on both sides of the rudder. The photos were taken at Fassberg. No offense taken, I would want to know also :-) As for the over painting, I think we are confusing different aircraft. That was on 112372. A kenn. apparently had been painted out on the rear of the fuselage, and a small "red 2" was painted on apparently a previous JG 7 badge forward of the cockpit. Also, 112372 was found at Schleswig, not Fassberg. Best wishes, Dan

Thanks for this fast reply Dan.

I m not confusing, i check the photos and i was wrong, especially on the left side there is an over painted kenn. under the 'white7', probably the previous yellow9 as it was known from the 5% damaged crash report under I./JG7.

Could someone post the "German aircraft selected for ferrying to U.K." list ?
This list is available from Public Record Office, under report No. Air 40/2022, i only know the first page which is publish in "Schnaufer Ace of Diamonds" book. This first page list the airplanes from A.M.1 to A.M.20 with W.Nr. > Would be interresting to know what W.Nr. was for A.M.51 at that time...

Hello all.

It has been a while since I have had time to visit. If anyone has ever posted that list it would be nice to see.

I came across a link today which has 112372 in RAF Hendon.

http://www.thomasgenth.de/Hendon/

I had not seen this information before. Is this info regarding this aircraft relatively new? After reading Peter Evans info, why was Yellow 4 painted on the aircraft?

Sorry if I missed the explanation somewhere else.

Nice to be back.

Vince...

Acc. to Russ Snaddon, the yellow 4 is only temporarely applied to be removeble as soon a s new data shows up. RS himself stated the identity of 112372 as "replacement for the one of the damaged Me 262, found in Twente, NL". The intentional # of Me 262 ferrying from Fassberg to RAE was 5. One was damaged upon landing at Lübeck or Schleswig. The replacement for that damaged one (a yellow 7, IIRC) was 112372.

The 262 damaged at Lübeck was 110800 White 7.

That list only goes up to A.M. 42 (a Siebel 204) and there are no Me 262s included at all.

Phil Butler's book "War Prizes" (Midland Counties) would probably help or Kenneth S. West's (much older and slimmer) "The Captive Luftwaffe."

IIRC, AM 51 had no recorded WNr.
