205 Group was part of MASAF (Mediterranean Allied Strategic Air Forces).

The only special duties unit listed separately (i.e. not part of a Group or Wing) in a MATAF (i.e. Tactical AF) order of battle for 1945 was the US 2641 st Special Group (H) Prov.
