Awaiting further info about the probable location of Charahter, I wonder if he was a victim of the 'Bombenwurf' on Schatalowka-Ost airfield (present day village of Shatalovo, S. of Smolensk) in which a good number of Stukas of St. G. 1 were destroyed and damaged.
