I was browsing through some of the old threads and stumbled upon this one. Besides the official cause of the loss given as Flak it seems that there is also some possibility that Leber was killed in a dogfight with Yak-7s of 146 GIAP whose pilots claimed 3 FW 190 in the time and space where Leberīs aircraft went down.
