Leber

Hi guys

By chance would anybody have any information concerning the fighter flown by Oberfeldwebel Heinz Leber (54 victories, RK, killed in action 1 June 1943) of 2./JG 51? Aside of that he was killed by Flak near Mtsensk at 200 meters altitude there is not much more written in Obermaier. I am doubtful there is any thing else but it does not hurt to ask. Thanks in advance.

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Leber

I was browsing through some of the old threads and stumbled upon this one. Besides the official cause of the loss given as Flak it seems that there is also some possibility that Leber was killed in a dogfight with Yak-7s of 146 GIAP whose pilots claimed 3 FW 190 in the time and space where Leber´s aircraft went down.

Leber

Hello Jan

I too had come across that information. However, I am not sure if there were any other VVS units operating in the area that also may have claimed victories at the same time. It would be nice to know of any other information concerning Leber's loss.

Horrido!
