The Vainamoinen was kept well camo'd by the Finns and survived the War and was handed over to the Soviets in 1947

The first soviet captain of this ship was captain 2nd Rank G. P. Negoda who was in command of the 3 destroyers sunk on 6 oct 1943. He was jailed released and i think he retired an Admiral.

The Vainamoinen's sister ship Ilmarinen was sunk by hitting a mine laid by the torpedo boats Tsikoh and Snel and minesweeper T-210 on 13 Sep 41
