missing Me210
Hello
Where did Me210 (Wnr. 0187) crash? From the Mankau-Stocker-Petrick books, we know that this Me210 A-1 from Luftbeob.St. 3 crashed 11th February 1944 and that Bordfunker Fw. Karl Schlotter was killed. Any information of this crash and the unknown pilot would be much appreciated because I am preparing an article about this unit in Venlo! Many thanks in advance. Re: missing Me210
Bonsoir Remi
Thanks for your always extra piece of information. Because the Me210 were used by the 'Tagesschwarm' of this Luft.Beob.St. 3 I guess that this aircraft was lost at daylight ? Are these losses recorded in the Verluste bei Schulen und sonstige Verbande? Amicalement, Marcel

For sure loss occured under daylight , that Me210 by night would hv been a blind cat searching for a dead mouse
My info comes from a book on the Messer. , no spurs in the school returns , the Luftbeob.st. was really a combat unit so no way to find it in these returns Seems that Matti don't hv the NVM... Remi |

Re: missing Me210
Bonjour Remi,
Thanks for clearing that up! There are 2-3 claims of USAAF fighters, claiming a Me410 near Frankfurt and/or SW of Frankfurt, a mix up with the Me210 is possible... Well, at least we have traces now! All the best, Marcel

Re: missing Me210
Hi, guys
The loss was reported in the loss record of GenQu 6 Abt on February 15th 1944. Nothing further to add though, Remi has covered the details. Regards, Andreas B

Re: missing Me210
Remi/Andreas - I also found reference to 5 me 110s and several Me 410s plus 3 109s and 2 Fw 190s credited the 354th FG. I know one of the LW units was II/JG11 led by Gunther Specht.
All the scores were north, southwest, south and in the general Frankfurt area from about 1150 to 1230 This was the mission that 354CO Col Martin shot down a 109 in a head on pass and collided with the debris. Uffr Reissle bailed successfully as did Martin |
