Generaloberst Hans Jeschonnek
I am wondering if anyone has any detailed information on Generaloberst Hans Jeschonnek's burial. The Chief of the Luftwaffe General Staff killed himself in Goldap on 18 August 1943 (most sources say he did this on 19 August 1943, but I have some good evidence to show that that date is incorrect). I believe I read somewhere that Jeschonnek had requested to be buried on near the shore of Lake Goldap, but haven't been able to relocate the information. The burial took place on 22 August 1943 and Goering attended. If anyone has any reliable information about Jeschonnek, e-mail me at Feldpost@aol.com or post the information here. Thanks in advance!
