Fw. Hans Langer - II/JG-51
I'm trying to find out more information on the LW fighter pilot, Fw. Hans Langer, who flew with II/JG-51 and survived the war.
The Kracker Archives I fear are in error as I think they are confusing two pilots with the last name of Langer. They have him as serving with JG-53 before moving to JG-51. His first victory is recorded as a Spitfire on March 31,1942 as a Leutnant while flying with JG-53 which I think is a different person from the Hans Langer who was was a Feldwebel in JG-51. He is shown in a group picture with 5./JG-51 in Raab Hungary in February 1945. In one book on the Schweinfurt-Regenburg raid, his rank is listed as a Hauptman which is definitively an error. |
