Abschuss by Schaufer 21 July 1944
Gentleman.
On 21 July 1944 the Lancaster LS-G R5904 was shot down near the hamlet of Steelhoven (Noord Brabant). Is this a Abschuss by Hauptman Heinz Wolfgang Schnaufer. According Lt. Frizt Rumpelhardt Flugbuch they had shot down that night between 00.45 and 02,28 hour two planes! Who can help? |

Abschuss by Schnaufer 21 July 1944
Hello Quercus
Schnaufer did indeed claim two victories that night, Lancaster I (LM183) "WP-L" of 90 Sqn, RAF flown by F/Lt PJ Rossington, all killed at 1:40 1.5 kilometers north of Boxtel at 4,500 meters and Lancaster I (R5904) "LS-G" of 15 Sqn, RAF flown by F/Lt WJ Bell, 6 killed, 1 POW at 1:51 eight kilometers north of Breda at 2,500 meters as his 85th and 86th victories. I hope this helps. Horrido! Leo |
