Br20 MM21904

Hello ,

On 29 october 1940 BR.20 werknumber MM21904 from 43°Stormo made a emergency landing at Stene airfield ( Belgium ) . The crew was : S/Ten Biagetti - Ten Poggi - 1°Av. Podda - Av.Sc Zarillo - 1°Av. Bay - Av. Sala .
Is there someone who can tell me some about this crew ?

Re: Br20 MM21904

Hello,

Tenente Pier Antonio Poggi and 1o Avieri Ovidio Podda were KIA on 11 November 1940.
For more info about their fates see my site at: http://surfcity.kund.dalnet.se/falco_bob.htm

The info on MM21904 is new to me. Where does this info comes from? Do you have an aircraft no. on this aircraft?

Best wishes/Håkan

Re: Br20 MM21904

Hello,

This a/c could not have been "243-3" as the crew names are not the same. It must have been one of the three that aborted and was possibly the one that force landed.

Pick up my thread in this forum at -

http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=21886

thanks for another MM number.

Found a slip of paper.
29-11-40 13 Stormo MM21908 Hit Houses on return killing crew. Tenente Talete Rebuscini, Ten. L. Dalforn, Marresciallo E. Romito, Avi. G. Columbano, G. Maruelli and M. Cini.
No info on residents of houses though.
So this a/c was not the one that forcelanded of the three that aborted, nore was it "243-3" from which Giusepp Monti bailed, I note that this crew were only five. Or did another unknown crewman also bail ?

Alex

Re: Br20 MM21904

Hello Alex,

Wasn't the last aircraft (MM21908) lost in the night raid on 29/30 October on Harwich, Ipswich, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, i.e. not included among the 3 that aborted on the day-light raid on Ramsgate on 29th?

Best wishes/Håkan

Re: Br20 MM21904

hello Hákan,
Thanks for correction corection, I had 29/11/40 on the peice of paper. And 29-10-40 for "243-3" and the Ferretti crew crashlanding and Monti death on another page.
All the best,
