What does this about the B36 mean?

Charles Carrington, a Pongo who went native, wrote the following in his book, 'Soldier At Bomber Command' (London 1987) on page 194, concerning events in March 1945.
"(Brig Oxborrow) praised the medium bombers for close support, especially as 'bridge-cutters', a reversal of all we had been saying a year earlier, the difference being that the Americans had 36 squadrons of Marauders with modern equipment, while 2 TAF had only the six old-fashioned squadrons of 2 Group'.
He was pointing the finger at the six squadrons in 2 Group equipped with Mitchell II and III (342Sqn, 226Sqn, 305Sqn, 98Sqn, 180Sqn and 320Sqn).
My question is this: what was the 'modern equipment' on the B26 Marauder that so impressed Oxborrow?
It could well have been Oboe, following this passage about events in June 1944 in the attack on Cherbourg supported by US TAF, on page 154; 'Fourteen wings of fighters and fighter-bombers swept through the area .....at five minute intervals....., attacking what they could see at low level.... The later waves saw nothing but dust and smoke. This preparation was followed with Oboe precision attacks by packets of Marauders on pin-point targets. Prisoner statements stress the moral effect of the fighter attacks...., but our impression was that the Bombers did better. Oxborrow used to say that, in his opinion, the American Marauders were the best of all Army Support aircraft'.
Did Carrington mean they were the best simply because Oboe made them accurate?
If that was all it took, why, I wonder, did 2 TAF not equip their 2 Group Mitchells (and their Mosquitos) with Oboe?
We discussed a long time ago on this site why 2 TAF and Bomber Command failed to destroy the Rhine bridges at Wesel in February/March 1945. Would the Marauders bombing at height with Oboe have succeeded?

I think you will find that there were RAF Ground Stations in NW Europe that were directing Mosquitos after the establishment of airstrips etc in late 1944

Don't think Oboe would be useful against bridges, too small a target. I'll rather bet on the Norden M-7 bombsight.
