Does a list of RAF torpedo-bomber successes exist?

After attempting a search through the literature, I haven't been able to find any listing of ships torpedoed by the RAF, either in Home Waters or in the Mediterranean. Furthermore, I couldn't find any information on the operations by Wellington torpedo-bombers, apart from the odd mention in "Spitfires over Malta".

Can any forum member suggest a book or even a set of archival documents that deals with this issue? It appears that this fairly important aspect of the air war has not received much attention. I've looked at the books by Roy Nesbit, but his coverage is not exhaustive and he doesn't provide a full list of sinkings.

Regards,

Paul Thompson

There are a few books out there that do deal with RAF torpedo bomber operations. But I don't think there is a complete listing of them.

Here is a list of books on RAF torpedo bomber and anti-shipping operations:

Torpedo Bomber/ The Ship Busters Ralph Barker
The Strike Wings Roy C Nesbit
Armed Rovers " "
Torpedo Airmen " "
A separate Little War Andrew Bird
A Forgotten offensive Christina J.M. Goulter

I Hope this is of some use.

I have followed Nick’s advice and started a blog on the subject, see http://shipsinkings.wordpress.com/ . See the new thread I have just started.
