Earlier this month, I started
a thread on this forum, looking for a list of ships sunk by the Luftwaffe. Since it was established in the course of that discussion that no such list existed, I have started a blog on the subject. The address is
http://shipsinkings.wordpress.com/.
I have written two posts, one concerning ships sunk by Luftwaffe glide bombs. The other covers Soviet losses to air attack on the Black Sea in the initial period of the war.
I would like to thank forum member mjbollinger for sharing the list of ship losses to glide bombs that he compiled for his book, "
Warriors and Wizards". I have slightly modified that list by adding dates and
uploaded it to the blog. Thanks are also due to forum member Brian Bines for sharing data from Ulf Balke's book on KG 100, which I used for some of the dates.
The second post is based on another set of information provided by Marty, namely a post-war Soviet publication on their ship losses. The
resulting list is a straight translation of a section covering Black Sea losses.
I have to reiterate that I only have a limited amount of time to spend on all of this, unfortunately. Volunteers to contibute all kinds of information to the blog would be most welcome!
Regards,
Paul
