Junkers W 34 mishap 13th September 1940
Dear all,
I hope someone is able to help my out with the next query: on 13th September 1940 a Junker W 34 (according to a local report 'W 38') made a forced landing in the Polder Wieringermeer in The Netherlands. The aircraft had turned over, but the 3 occupants were unhurt. I've frantically searched the Losses Returns of the operational Luftwaffe units in the hope to find the identity of this W 34, but to avail. It may have been a W 34 from one of the non-operational units, but I do not have these losses returns unfortunately. I hope someone has the identity of this W 34 on file, or would be willing to have a look in the losses returns of the non operational units to see if any accident or damaged aircraft has been mentioned on 13th September 1940. Thanks in advance for your effort, Hans Nauta |
