Losses of II/JG52 in Apr 1,1944

Hello,
I am interested in losses of II/JG52 in Apr 1, 1944.
I know that Ltn. Hans-Werner v. Rudloff (4. Staffel) missed in action after take off Bagerowo in 09.10.
Also from memoir of Helmut Lipfert is known that Gerhard Barkhorn emergency landed outside of airfield this day.
Is this list complete?
Can anybody help me in this question?

Thanks in advance
Andrey

Those two are the only examples from JG 52 on my list, but others may have more.

Documentation for 1944 is fragmentary.

Thank you, GRM!

Can you append anything about those two aircrafts? Wnr and/or type of plane, other information?

Andrey.

Losses of II./JG 52 on April 1, 1944

Hi Andrey

Fast lists the following for the first loss that you are interested in:

1 April 1944: Leutnant Hans-Werner von Rudloff of 4./JG 52 missing in Bf 109 G-6 "White 6" (W.Nr. 760 026) following aerial combat

There is nothing regarding location and nothing regarding the Barkhorn incident either. Perhaps Morrison can add more to these? My apologies for inserting myself in the thread.

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Losses of II/JG52 in Apr 1,1944

The Lufwaffe summary of losses database had only two entries for II./JG 52 on this date (and no other JG 52 loss):
1 aircraft "missing due to enemy action" (obviously von Rudloff)
1 aircraft "damaged without enemy action on operational flight": this would be Barkhorn, and his aircraft was so repaired, or at least deemed repairable (to confirm it was repaired before the fall one Crimea a little more than one month later is another matter).

Hi Leo

One more question...

"White 6" or maybe "White 8"? I have found in forum's archive:
«Lt Hans-Werner Von Rudloff 4/JG52 1.4.44 Nach Luftkampf Vermisst Bruch 100% Raum Bagerowo, SU Bf109G-6 760026 W8.
Source Barbas II/JG52» http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=6270.
My apologies for doubts... ))

Hi Andrey

No problem as frequently there is conflicting information. I can only state that Fast gives the tactical code as "White 6" and obviously Barbas gives it as "White 8" as well as the location. Personally, I would go with what Barbas has written as Fast occasionally has some errors but to be certain I would ask knowledgeable members here such as George Morrison, Matti Salonen and Jim Perry all of whom have large databases of Luftwaffe losses what is their information. I am sure that they will be very willing to help.

Horrido!
