acft ID

The attached photo depicts a Soviet aircraft
captured after a belly landing somewhere in
Ukraine . Any idea regarding the type ?

It looks to me like a Heinkel He 111 bomber.

I think it is a He 111. Why do you think it is a soviet plane?

Thanks all for your feedbacks. Yes and I may agree on earlier HE-111 model. Gabor , why do I think Russian ? I don't think nothing my collegue from Simferopol thinks so . I am unable to ident with covered front dome and cockpit, thats why I asked. Attached B /E version as possible candidate

Yes, it makes sense. BTW, the sharp lines in camo on the wings were very popular on earlier Heinkels. It can be an early 'B' or so. Cheers,

Thanks Gabor and yes fully agreed, also since I am not an expert
on the HE, do you know based on what technical or performance issues
the Luftwaffe Ruestungsamt elected after the Spanish civil war despite
the battle proven B & E series to opt for the uglier and full glass
cockpit version as standard equipement ?
