Whirlwind P6979 (HE-G) - shot down 24-10-43
Whirlwinds photos are very rare....and when they do appear from the other side of the wall, with serial and codes...

well someone really wanted them, they went for 185 euros & 164 euros well outside my hobby budget but at least i have some 'free' ebay listing photos saved now like a few othe people most likely cheers jerry

Interesting photo and one that confirms comments I have read that the fuselage on Whirlwinds broke behind the cockpit which often allowed the pilot to escape serious injury.
