Allied claims over Persia - Luftwaffe and Allied Air Forces Discussion Forum

Hi,

In 1941 Britain and Russia invaded Persia in order to protect their oil supplies from possible German aggression.

Does anyone know if the RAF fighter squadron that was involved, 261 Squadron, claimed any air-to-air or air-to-ground victories?

I believe 'Imshi' Mason may have made at least one claim.

Correct Alex

Try to get Shore's Dust Clouds in the Middle East where you have the complete RAF involvement in the Iranian "incident". He scored the RAF's only victory in said campaign on Aug 26th 1941, his last....

Not to confuse the issue but IIRC there were a couple of Blue on Blue's also.

Thanks for the offer but I picked up a copy not long ago. I also received the PRO file on William Stephen, one small paragraph of info. Not much but every little helps as they say.
