Re: Crash location 384 B Grp B-17 42-30104
If 42-30194 is the correct one -
42-30194 / We Ain’t Scared Delivered Cheyenne 24/4/43; Gore Fd 25/4/43; Smoky Hill 12/5/43; Tinker 25/5/43; Smoky Hill 29/5/43; Dow Field 1/6/43. Assigned 91BG Bassingbourn 15/6/43; transferred 335BS/95BG [OE-O] Horham 16/6/43 (8 missions). „WE AIN’T SCARED“. Missing in Action Bonn 12 August 1943 – enemy aircraft shot out #4; crashed Kattenbos, three miles S of Lommel, Belgium. Missing Air Crew Report – MACR 253. |

Re: Crash location 384 B Grp B-17 42-30104
Hello Michel;
according to the Namentliche Verlustmeldung AV 318 and German documents (Abschussnummer/casualty no. KU 8) the crash location of the B-17 F-85 BO 42-30104 was Haus Ölgarten near Hennef/Sieg. Regards Leo |

MACR 253 for 42-30194 is here:
https://catalog.archives.gov/id/90890023 Given the crew make-up, this appears to be a lead ship. Last edited by RSwank; 18th March 2021 at 14:36. |

Re: Crash location 384 B Grp B-17 42-30104
Hi Michel. Do you mean 42-3104 ( 547BS/384BG "RAIDER") lost 12/8/43 nr. Hennef ? = MACR 286, but MACR says 42-30104***********
According to Roger Freeman 42-30104 remained in the USA; 42-30194 "WE AIN'T SCARED" ( lost same date) was 95BG as Joerg said. Nick |

Re: Crash location 384 B Grp B-17 42-30104
There is a probleme:it's 30104? or 3104?
I have five B-17 lost of 384°/ 42-3231 "Erfstadt" 42-30046 "Gelsenkirchen" 42-29686 "Koningswinter" 42-5806"Vollmershoven" and so? 42-30104 or 42-3104? |

Re: Crash location 384 B Grp B-17 42-30104
I was looking at the mission reports for the 384th on this date = 42-3104.
It was named "Raider" and was ex-94th. These serials can be a nightmare sometimes. Nick https://384thbombgroup.com/_content/...?SortieKey=325 |
