Is it a BMW 801 WNr.?

Hello,

A previous thread invites me to post a request about a mysterious red hand-painted, 5-digit number, found inside the front armoured ring from a FW 190.
It comes from FW 190 A-7 WNr. 340296 equipped with BMW 801 D-2 WNr.317128.
Obviously this 'B.M. 12194.' is not the engine WNr.
Any suggestion is most welcome!
We found about 80% of the annular armour and it has only this number painted. No main dataplate recovered.
Sorry, not able to attach picture, will try later.

Best regards

ClinA-78

Hi ClinA-78,

Just a thought: could B.M. stand for BauMuster (type, variant)?

Regards,
Roger
