Bare metal Me 262s
I'm currently building a 1/72 scale Me 262 and have opted to build one of the a/c found at war's end still in bare metal, but with filler/putty applied to the panel lines.
I wan't to know if there are any figures as to how many were found in this condition? Were any of them actually flown in combat like this, and was the lack of paint just to speed them off the production lines? I have a few references, but nothing very clear, and can only guess the putty colour by looking at others' models, so any further details would be gratefully received. Sorry for the diatribe......... ![]() |
