A few "Sunday" Bf 109's
Hi there Franck,
Here a Sunday treat of "fresh" Bf 109's... http://www.flickr.com/photos/kemon01...n/photostream/ A "regular" Bf 109 G-6 (?) http://www.flickr.com/photos/kemon01...n/photostream/ How to fix a blown tire with the helping hand of at least 20 buddies... Camo of this G-6/R6 is of interest. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kemon01...n/photostream/ W.Nr. 760070: one of the Györ produced Bf 109 G-14, seen near Berlin, 1945. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kemon01...n/photostream/ One of the Plzen Bf 109 G-14's http://cgi.ebay.de/Abgeschmierte-Me1...#ht_500wt_1156 Bf 109 F-4, "White 1", IV./JG 77 (?) http://cgi.ebay.de/FOTO-FLUGZEUG-Me1...ht_1043wt_1139 Bf 109 E-7 http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Luftwaffe-2-...#ht_606wt_1139 And a really tough one! How can you see the "White 12"? Did this machine burn out or is it an all over RLM 76 camouflage? Cheers Marc |

Re: A few "Sunday" Bf 109's
Hi Marc,
"Weisse 1" is not a a IV./JG77 plane but 7./JG54, WNr.9619 flew by Scholz, Günther. Oblt., Luga, 1 Aoűt 1941. As for the G-6/R6 with amazing camouflage... I think it's a III./JG5 machine; just a bet. Last that 5.(S)./LG2 machine. An E-7?? Still with an early canopy windscreen, including a rear view mirror!! Note no yellow cowling but with a fuselage band and the two emblems rarely seen together. As usual with that unit it's hard to say where and when and what type of Bf109E. Tschöö, Franck. |

I have another photo of this very aircraft, broken in two, that's how I know the ID. However, I don't know the unit, location, or time. The painting is a white winter camo.

Re: A few "Sunday" Bf 109's
Hi there,
Back to this 5.(S)./LG2 machine.... I do pretend that the two following pictures (3 & 4) represent the same airplane... Beyond the "C" (Red or Black, I choose Red) we have the same canopy style and - more important - that white vertical scratch in the black triangle. Since you have picture #4 in your hand look at the left wing tip: Done? Now look that one http://www.me109.info/display.php?a=e&fid=5786 and that one http://www.me109.info/display.php?a=e&fid=6101 Still the same position, still the same unit and still the same wing tip! Last look at the last one: #5: Still the same discribed characteristics plus the same background than the second coming from Falcon site. #3, 4 & 5 come from old eBay auctions: As you can read #5 is captionned as being taken at Vassiliéva, 3 Aoűt 1941. So what we have? a Bf109E-7 (but I still don't agree with that E-7), 5.(S)./LG2, "Rotes C", Vassiliéva, August 1941 (Remove the day 3 since obviously we can see the same plane at different stages). Cheers, Franck. Last edited by ouidjat; 30th January 2011 at 10:15. |
