Re: RAF Combat Reports
How do these items keep appearing for auction? Can one assume that they are stolen?

Re: RAF Combat Reports
Ed,
Many thanks for posting these links. Just a note: the latter pilot´s name was not Kauky, but Kaucký (interesting that it appeared mispelled in the original document, but perhaps it just proves the rush of those days...) Ota |

Re: RAF Combat Reports
Hi Franek,
What do you mean by fake? The actual report or Chalupa's claim? Alex

I mean the report is fake. It is obvious but nonetheless I compared it to copy of actual Chalupa's report of the day. |

Re: RAF Combat Reports
The dealer who sells these "combat reports" has sold many, many such documents on e-Bay over the years.
There have been a considerable number of allegations on the internet concerning this dealer and his father (who, alledgedly has been investigated for forgery of militaria by the UK authorities in the past) over the use of an old typewriter and unused stocks of paper. Many of these "combat reports" have sold for amount in the hundreds of pounds. The same dealer has made considerable amounts of money (at times numbering in the hundreds of pounds) selling white Royal Navy pattern sweaters (apparently able to be purchased for around 10 pounds) as geniune WWII RAF Frocks Aircrew Sweaters. It is an easily proven fact (purusal of the wartime specification and surviving geniune examples) that the sweaters being sold are not what they are claimed to be. BUYER BEWARE! |

Re: RAF Combat Reports
I am not sure who are the proper authorities and I am not certain if I could be considered an expert by a court but a case of Chalupa's report is very easy to prove.
