Part of a bomb??

Hello and a happy new year to all!

A friend of mine has this ring and has asked me what it is. I am not sure but maybe a ring attached to a bomb??
The diameter is 365 millimeter.
Does anyone has a clue about what this is?

Thank you in advance

Christian

Re: Part of a bomb??

It does look like it might be the ring that was installed to the bombs carried by Ju87 'Stukas'. The bombs that were carried under the fuselage that swung down when dropped. These required a special attachments had to be fitted to Ju87 bomb to allow them to be attached to the swing down mechanism. Well I think that's what it might be anyhow.

Re: Part of a bomb??

This is the cradle ring for a Ju 87 mounted 250kg bomb. The diameter is pretty much correct for a 250 (360mm)

For my opinion a suspension band from a SD 250.
