It's Johann Schmid : SCHMID, Johann. (DOB: 13.01.11 in Gainfarm/Austria). (R). 1938 in the Luftwaffe as an Oberfeldwebel. (n.d.) with the Condor Legion in Spain. 09.39 Ofw., with 1./JG 2. 05.40 in 1./JG 2. 1940 in III./JG 26. 07.41 with 7./JG 26. 08.41 Staka 8./JG 26. 01.08.41 promo to Hptm. 21.08.41 Hptm., awarded Ritterkreuz, appt Staka 8./JG 26 (to 06.11.41). 06.11.41 KIA – Bf 109 F-4 (Black 1) believed to have flown too close to the water and crashed after claiming a Spitfire 10 km northwest of Calais. 01.06.44 posthumous promo to Maj.
