B-24 Losses

Not my field of specialty, but were there B-24 losses in the Napels area on

March 1, 1943
March 2, 1943

John,
According to my MTO B-17/24 missions file, on March 1, 1943 the 98th and 376th BGs raided Naples (B-24s); and the 97th and 301st BGs (B-17s) raided Palermo. On March 2, 1943 the 97th and 301st BGs raided Tunis and La Goulette, respectively.

On these dates, RAF flew also Liberator bombers in MTO, and one of 178 Sqn was lost during a raid on Naples on 4-5 March 1943. No losses for 1 and 2 March 1943, but they may have been active over Italy.
