Russian fighter losses

Hello,
first sorry for my bad English.
I ´m searching informations (books etc.) about russian fighter losses during WW2, especially in 1945. It would be great if somebody could help me.

The only thing You can do to have full losses - to spent some month/years in Podolsk TcAMO & TcVMA archives...

Many historeans in Russia spent YEARS in it - but untill now there are NO full VVS losslists. There were hundreds, thounthands of various iap/shap/bap/sap/rap e.t.c., and each of it has its own (and even many with different periods of action) ZhBD ( Zhurnal Boyevoy Deyatel'nosti polka) - it is like KriegsTageBusch - War Log Book. To make losslist of even small iap (fighter regiment - like Gruppe on Luftwaffe) - You need to find thouse ZhBD's LOGBOOKS of that iap (it is rare that it has 1 of it - usually 2 or more, and some of them could be lost), and hard work to compile. And now just look on list of iap's:

Some very small info is found, but 100% it is not FULL.

Do you know if sites in English exist with (part of) this information? I can read cyrillic, but I can't understand Russian.

Unfortunatly, not.

Very small info, can be found only in personal communications with Russian Speaking historeans.

Most of them very busy working on new books.

I can only say: AFAIK, VVS lost ~1000 fighters in 1945.

was that only combat losses or include non-combat losses too ?

That should be only combat losses. In his book about Soviet and Russian losses in 20th century conflicts, Krivosheev mentions about 1500 fighters lost in combat in 1945 (by all service branches : VVS, VMF, and PVO) , and 5800 overall (This last figure may seem high but retired planes are considered (non-combat) losses).

Kolya, what is the definition of the "retired planes" ? were those aircraft retreated from front duty because of wear & tear?
