Does anybody knows where the 2nd Staffel NJG 11 was based at Feb. 26th 45?
Also it would be interesting to know ith which a/c they were equipped at that time incl. stregth.

According to my notes taken from several ULTRA BT-series signals along with Gen.Qu.(6.Abt.) losses for 11, 21 and 26 February, 2. Staffel was based at Biblis and had a mix of Bf 109 G-10s, G-14s and K-4s. I./NJG 11 was operating under Jafü Mittelrhein. I have no strength information for the Staffel for that date.

Re: I./NJG 11 (2. Staffel)

Hi Larry, SES,
thanks for the info. Reason why I ask is that I found the grave of Georg Matt who was KIA at Feb. 26th 1945. Based on his sister he was a Night Fighter pilot in 2nd NJG 11.
But she has no details. The only thing she told was that her brother flew already against England and survived the entire war till short before the end.
No CV available so far.

Thanks
Rolfeb

Re: I./NJG 11 (2. Staffel)

Dear Members of this forum,

I'm looking for the vita during WW II of Georg Matt. As far as I understood he was flying already from the beginning of WW II till he was KIA in Feb.
He also flew in a NAG (Nahaufklärungsgruppe) in Russia but no glue in which one.

Thanks for help.

Rolf

Ich habe nichts über Herr Matt. He is not listed as a recipient of the Ehrenpokal either, which is somewhat strange given that he flew throughout the war. I sense that he was Mannschaft and not an officer. If that is so, then your only hope for his career details will be to have his sister e-mail or write to WASt in Berlin. They may have some information on him.

Hello Rolfeb,

Here is a copy of the WASt Verlustmeldung for Georg Matt who after a non-operational flight had an accident on landing?. If you could supply us with a photo of Georg and his grave for our archive we would greatly appreciate it.

Kind regards,

Melvin

Re: I./NJG 11 (2. Staffel)

Greetings all,

My database lists Uffz. Georg Matt of 2./NJG 11 as flying Bf 109 K-4 WNr. 332522 on 45/02/26.

Has anyone else notice the hand written 2-line entry in column 2 that appears to read: “Bf 109 G14 159730”

Hi Steve, Note that this report has a different date and that there was some sort of accident on landing?

Regards,

Melvin
