Ju 88 - Staffel Kapitän

On the back of the enclosed picture of a Ju 88 code ?1+CW or ?4+CW, there is some writing in Suttelin which I can partly make out as :
- Our CW
- Oberleutnant Ludeke???? Staffelkapitän April 1941.

Can anybody decipher this Oberleutnant's name and, if so, does anybody have more information about him and the unit he belonged to when this picture was taken?

Thanks in advance,
Rudi.

Re: Ju 88 - Staffel Kapitän

After searching our lists, the following guy appears to be the only real possibility:

LÜDECKE, Karl-Heinz. 00.42 Hptm., appt Staka 11./KG 1 (to 29.06.42).

He is in the right rank range and the unit code was probably V4+_V and at the time the unit used Ju 88s.
I examined other fellows in our lists and they are either non-flyers or don’t have appropriate unit associations.

We hope that this helps.

Re: Ju 88 - Staffel Kapitän

Thanks for the quick reply, Doug.

I think you're right. Lüdecke could be it. The aircraft code however is definately +CW, from the 12 Staffel but that doesn't proof anything. 1st Lt Lüdecke (from 11 Staffel) could be walking in front of a 12 Staffel Ju 88.

The writing at the back only states "OUR CW" and then the name, rank and function of Lüdecke and the date. It doesn't say OUR Staffelkapitän.

Kind regards,
Rudi.

Re: Ju 88 - Staffel Kapitän

LÜDECKE died in 1942:
"...
15.05.1942
Hptm. Ludecke, staffelkapitan 11./KG 1, Ju-88 wnr.3625, погиб при столкновении с другим Ju-88 в районе Ssineserka. ..."

Hptm. Albrecht Beck succeeded.

regards
