III/ZG 26 pilots: Fw Arnold Reiner, Fw Ferdinand Glanz, Richard Prang anyone knows anything about them?

Hi all
I cannot track their fate in war, all I know is they all served in III/ ZG 26 in 1941.
Any help would be most welcome
Regards
Bogdan

Hi,
had a Fw. Arno Reiner, flying 110 for the Luther Werke Braunschweig in 1943, later a
Ofw. Arno Reiner with JG7 in 1945, but nothing about Arnold Reiner.

In 1943 a Oberleutnant Ferdinand Glanz wounded with III./ZG 1

In August 1944 a Hauptmann Richard Prang killed, flying Bf 109 with 12./JG 76.

maybe the persons you looking for ?

regards

Re: III/ZG 26 pilots: Fw Arnold Reiner, Fw Ferdinand Glanz, Richard Prang anyone knows anything about them?

From our officer career files:

PRANG, Richard.
1941 Oblt., appt Staka 11./ZG 26 (to 1941).
07.41 Oblt., appt acting Staka 8./ZG 26 (to 26.07.41).
01.03.43 in Stab/NJG 3, promo to Hptm.
12.12.43 Hptm., appt Staka 7./ZG 26 (to 10.06.44).
† 25.08.44.

We have nothing about the other fellows, but from the Kracker Archive:

Reiner, Arnold - Fw. - 1known victory - 7./ZG-26 (4/41)Bf 110EK 2, Destroyer Operational ClaspHis one known victory, a Desert victory, a Hurricane over Malta on 14 April, 1941 (Perry Claims).

Glanz, Ferdinand - Lt. 1known victory - 8./ZG-26 (4/41)Bf 110EK 2, Night Fighter Operational ClaspHis one known victory, a Blenheim in the Malta area on 18 April, 1941. Perry Claims.

Prang, Richard - Oblt. 1 known victory - Stfkpt 8./ZG-26 (2/41)Bf 110CEK 2, Destroyer Operational Clasp

That's about all we can find.

Re: III/ZG 26 pilots: Fw Arnold Reiner, Fw Ferdinand Glanz, Richard Prang anyone knows anything about them?

Thank you
I am almost sure Ferdinand Glanz of III/ZG 1was one and the same guy with the one in ZG 26, because it seems he followed his 9/ZG 26 Staffel Kapitan Bohrt's same path from zg 26 to ZG 1, the latter himself eventually beeing killed on 1.09.1942(shot down, DOW 9.09.)
Did Glanz survive the war after beeing wounded?
Any idea the date Glanz was wounded?
Also, I am sure Reiner was the same as one flying in 7. Did he survive the war?
Regards
Bogdan

find no loss for Reiner, had a entry from January 19th 1945, plane damaged when take off, he was unhurt.
Same for Glanz, can´t find a loss after after he was wounded.

If they survived ? sorry don´t know.

Olt Ferdinand Glanz from II/SG 3 is listed missing in Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Suchdienst Vermisstenbildliste, Book LJ, page 279.

Matti

Hi Doug,

11./Z.G. 26 existed since 06.1943 (in Eleusis aufgestellt), i think its first Staka was Oblt. Peter Habicht (i am not sure about him)
Thus Oblt. Richard Prang couldn`t be its Staffelkapitän
