von Grafenreuth

Hello, I'm brand new to this forum and need some help or advice. I'm a uniform collector, with one of my Luftwaffe overcoats having the name
"Lieutenant von Grafenreuth" in it. (not von Gravenreuth) and is dated 1936. It seems he was killed (shot down) in 1940 over Gatwick, England.
I was trying to find out more information on him...maybe even a picture.??
Any recommendations on where/how to proceed?
Thanks very much, Mike
PS. The coat has colonel boards on it and not lieutenant, so maybe they were replaced.

Re: von Grafenreuth

If it is the the pilot who was shot down in September 1940, here's his grave at Cannock Chase:

WOW...thanks so much..is there any way for you to email me that pic to
drmike58@gmail.com ?? I can't get it larger in order to read it. Yes, I think it was the same man. His coat has the right name, but the boards and colar tabs seem to be higher rank. ..??
I really appreciate your help. I like to put a "story' with my uniforms, it means more.
Mike

Re: von Grafenreuth

Hi Mike,

1/ I have Ulrich Fhr.von Gravenreuth b. 4-9-04, KIA over England 27-9-1940 with rank Oblt.
2/ Siegmund-Ulrich Fhr. von Gravenreuth b 4-9-04 promoted to Ltn 1-4-36 flew as a bomber pilot a Kom.of KG30 killed on a fighter conversion course 16-10-44 with rank Oberstltn.
The Refs. I have for both men (brothers?) spell their names with a 'v' not an 'f'. It would seem Siegmund would be a better possibility for owning the coat or it could have been passed to him on the death of Ulrich if related, unless of course the Grafenreuth is correct and its a different person altogether,

Regards

Mike,
If you click on it, it will take you through to the small size on Imageshack. Top right-hand corner of the photo there is a feature to 'zoom' the photo. Click on that to take it up to full size.

I'll also get it off to you by e-mail.
