Halifax shot down 30.06.41 over Kiel

Hello,

An Halifax was shot down by fighters (probably Bf110) around Kiel during a RAF day raid on Kiel. The aircraft was L9499/TL-Q.
Does anyone know who claimed a British four-engined bomber on 30 June 1941?

Thanks

Phil

Halifax shot down 30.06.41 over Kiel

Hello Phil

According to The Nachjagd War Dairies by Boiten and McKenzie this aircraft was shot down by Oberleutnant Walter Fenske of 3./NJG 1. It was the twelfth of his 15 victories recorded in the war prior to his death in aerial combat on 27 March 1944. I hope this helps.

Horrido!

Leo
