Smile Doodling again...

Hi all!

Yes, it's time again to show what I have been up to lately, this time it's a Bf 109 G-6/AS MW 50 (my addition, they were probably not named that way back then).

This aircraft appears in a photo of a line-up of 5 staffel JG 27 provided by Haldimann, it's the aircraft behind number "14".

Admittedly, there is parts of the aircraft which is not shown, so, a modicum of artistic license has been used. Among the things that ARE clearly seen, is the "reverse" spiral on the spinner. I DID however resist the temptation to add the staffel emblem, as at this late stage in the conflict, they were rare.

As for camouflage of the Bf 109 G-6/AS it's an understatement to say that they were not standardized.

As always, constructive criticism is welcome.

All the Best!

Humbly yours,

Re: Doodling again...

Hi there Agantyr,

Thanks for your latest creation: they are a good motivation to take a closer look at the existing pictures. Interesting how this batch of Erla built machines are totally out of the usual Erla standards, t least the ones I know and which can be verified by other photos here:

The closest I can find to your chosen plane is this one, probably taken at the same time:

You will notice the usual "Erla spine line" which is not seen neither on "Schwarze 12", "Schwarze 14" nor "Schwarze 15".. seen on the pic you worked with, to be seen here:

The interesting aspect of the color shot of "Weisse 5" is that the general feel for the RLM 76 is much lighter then one you gave on the "Schwarze 15". I wonder if this can be translated at all via Ai ?

Thanks again for your work and for the analysis it does foster
Marc

Re: Doodling again...

Hi!

And thank you very much for the feedback! Yes, I know about "white 5" and its light blue color seems almost white! Note the low contrast between the white noseband and the blue itself.

I have lightened up the illustration somewhat, and also added the dark gray on the spine, close to the cockpit. In the photo, this area is highlighted by the sun, making decisions on the color impossible, so I have been guided by the appearance of aircraft "12" and "14". Most of making an illustration on aircraft that are partially hidden, is educated guess-work.

A picture of another G-6/AS, blown up by fighter-bombers, also reveals that the yellow on the underside of the wings actually went beyond the wing-tips, so I have modified this accordingly.

Thank you again for the feedback!

Humbly yours,

Angantyr
