Oberleutnant Klaus Meinert, 2./JG 27

Last weekend members of "Arbeitsgruppe Vermisstenforschung" placed a wooden cross at the crashsite of Oberleutnant Klaus Meinert in a wooden area near Erdesbach, Kusel County. Also enclosed are photographs of findings at the crashsite.

More information about Klaus Meinert and his aircraft is welcome.

Hello Ewe,

Very nice work and a touching tribute to a fallen warrior.

Regarding the component seen in your next-to-the-last photograph, the initial digit 9 of its Gerät-Nr. indicates that this is an engine component. The Hersteller code bjp = Bosch, Robert GmbH, Flugmotoren-Telle u.-Zuberhör, Stuttgart 1, Militärstr. 4 [BW].

The only other “bjp” photo reference in my files is a part of the fuel injection system of a Jumo 211. I am certain that one of our members will be able to tell you exactly what component you have discovered.
