Two B-24 Liberator losses 1 August 1943 Ploesti raid

Dear all,

I have documented two confirmed Nachtjäger claims for B-24s shot down during the 1 August 1944 Ploesti raid, and would be grateful for details on the matching Liberator losses to these claims:

Uffz. Hugo Knöbel: 1 10./NJG6 B-24 Bütoi (RL 82): 10 m. 14.31
Ofw. Georg Klever: 3 10./NJG6 B-24 Piatra (TI 5): 10 m. 14.43

Cheers and thanks, Theo

Theo , 1st of August 1943 or 1st of August 1944 ? If Ops TW , then this
could well be Lt.Weaver's Lib and this of Lt.Scrivner's Lib both 44th BG
eventually other .

Oeps, typo -the right date should read 1 August 1943!

Alex: do you have the serial numbers & nr of BS for these two 44 BG Liberators? Where did these a/c come down?

Cheers, Theo

above claimed interception locations .

Cheers
