Hans-Dieter Kaiser

Dear All,
Hans-Dieter Kaiser (JG 300) was shot down on December 17, 1944 at Polouvsí in the Nový Jičín area in the Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia), by American pilots:

Do you happen to know where the American air base was located?

Thank you very much in advance.

Re: Hans-Dieter Kaiser

I presume you are asking about the base from which the American aircraft came?

Dear Chris,
Yes, you are right. I meant the base from which the American aircraft had come.

Thank you very much for moving this thread to the Allied and Soviet Air Forces section.

The 15th AF (based in Italy) bombed refineries at Moravska-Ostrava,
Czechoslovakia on December 17th, 1944. The bombers were based in airfields
located around Foggia.

Dear Roland,
Thank you very much for your answer.

Oh! So far away! To travel such a long way from Italy to Czechoslovakia...
