Obfw. Franz Barten 11./JG51 on 12Nov41
Looking for opinions on a claim for Obfw Franz Barten 11./JG 51 on the 11Nov41 at 08:10 and 08:11. He claimed two "SB-3" but gave no locations. IV/JG 51 was stationed at Jermolino (Yermolino) at that time. On that day there was no other claims for bombers on that part of the front. The Soviets lost two DB-3F of the 445 DBAP (36 AD DD) one crashed 20 km W of Lopasnya and the second E of Stremilovo. These locations are east of Serpuchov and north of the Oka River. Considering the location is it reasonable that these were Barten's claims? German pilots were misidentifying DB-3's and SB's in a lot of dogfights.

Re: Obfw. Franz Barten 11./JG51 on 12Nov41
I'm quite sure these are number 23 and 24 victories listed for Franz Barten in JFV 6/I page 346 considering that his airfield was within range. I read a Russian source that stated that quite often the Germans confused the DB-3F with the SB.
