Pilot F/Lt H A Cowan

Hello everyone,
Jägerblatt 1/2001, reaction to search ad (174/)

Uffz. Hubert Kudznik Schulte with K.H. Engert at the Erg. Jg 1 in Sagan and was transferred with Wolf Wagner and Fritz Hennies to Rechlin to test the TA 152. In April 1945, the testing commDo was solved, the six aircraft leaders came to JG 301 in Stendal, then Neudadt-Glewe. On April 19, 1945, Kudznik was commissioned to transfer two TA 152 from Rechlin to Neustadt-Glewe with Wolf Wagner. They are attacked by two Spitfires in the square. Kudznik tears his machine around so strongly that it wraps and due to the low height (150-200 meters) there is a crash. The Spitfire follows the Wolf Wagner, is shot down by the anti -aircraft. Description by Fritz Hennies on January 10, 1946.

As far as the excerpt from the hunter leaf
During the shot down, Spitfire on April 19th. 1945in Neustadt Glewe, there is the possibility that it is the pilot for f/lt h a cowan. He flew a Spitfire XIV in the 402nd SQN. (RCAF) ID RN204

To date, the Spitfire in Parchim was accidentally shot down by Russian APP.
Next question:
Is there any further information about the shot down Spitfire and or the German pilots with TA 152?

Cheers Frank

Hallo zusammen,
Jägerblatt 1/2001, Reaktion auf Suchanzeige (174/)

Uffz. Hubert Kudznik schulte mit K.H. Engert beim Erg.

No 402 Sqn engaged two long nosed 190s, but not sure if description match. This was a small area, and plenty of units mingled there. I do not think Soviets were at Parchim at the time, so guess it was Flak.

Re: Pilot F/Lt H A Cowan

First of all, thank you for the message

There is also something for this use of TA 152 with the pilot Uffz. Hubert Kudznik

Cheers Frank
