.... Ju 88 A-1 [4D+AL] I/KG 30 (Luftflotte 2)
OPS (F) failed to find it´s base on return, was force landed (100%) at Laaland [Laaland Island, Denmark] 16.03.1940 - Set on fire by crew and burnt out
[LWFLV 1v18.03.40; crew returned later {amd in LWFLV 8v17.04.40}) ; see in Carsten Petersen: ´Tyske Fly I Danmark´ Vol.3. (He 111 and Ju 88) P.44 : Photo and report of 3./KG 30 crew (F Uffz. Werner Mattner, B Obgefr. Erich Voss, BF Uffz. Erich Close and BS Obgefr. Wilhelm Gottlebe) when they failed to find the base on return and belly landing their aircraft near Magelundgaard on North-Western Lolland in Denmark at 01:30 hrs on 17.03.1940.
