He 111 lost 6.9.39 Poland.
Hi , on the 6.9.39 KG26 lost 3 He111's in the area of Leczyca, Poland.
Can anybody confirm whether Uffz Karl Detlefsen's a/c was coded 1H+2M?? or a typo in the records. Also what was the fate of all the crews this day, were they all vermisst! Best regs, Steve. |

Re: He 111 lost 6.9.39 Poland.
Hello,
Was it 3 or 4 aircraft? I have 3 in my records with the total of 12 Crew missing in action. The attack was a low level attack on the road Leczyca - Lewitz. Thanks for the additions, Norbert |

Re: He 111 lost 6.9.39 Poland.
Many thanks for the information Pilot05 and Norbert.
There was 4 a/c lost, 3x destroyed, and Lt Benesch's a/c forced landing with damage at Breslau-Schongarten. Any further information on these losses would be most welcome. Rgs, Steve. |
