Identity He 111 KG53 lost 11 November 1944

Dear all,

I hope somebody has the Werknummer and Kenzeichen on file of the He 111 of KG53 of Ofhr Wilhelm Jansen, which was shot down in the night of 10/11th November 1944 by the Mosquito of F/Sgt G. R. Brooking of 68 Squadron.

Although the claim was made at 01.55 hrs in grid J.85 (25 kilometres W of Texel) over the Nort Sea, the crash was observed by German naval units at Den Helder at 12 kilometres distance in the direction of 320 degrees at 02.03 hrs. This acttually narrows the crash place as North Sea 5 km W of Texel.

Thanks in advance,
Hans Nauta

Hello Brian,

Thanks for your quick reply. Does the NVM also mentions the subtype of the Heinkel? I expect either H-16 or H-20.

Regards,
Hans Nauta

Hello Hans,

No sub-type shown, on other NVM's w.n.'s starting 160, 161 or 162 are shown as H-16's with H-20's starting 700,

regards

Hi,

I agree with the H-16, Heinkel Oranienburg production, nothing else at present.
