Hi,

perhaps somebody could check if 73 Sqn did claim a Do 17 over France on 05.06.40?
TIA

Hello Robert,

Yes, indeed they did, but the name of the successful pilot, time and location are unfortunately unknown. 73 Squadron was the only RAF unit to make a claim against Do 17 on this date.

Source: John Foreman, RAF Fighter Command Victory Claims of World War Two, Part I.

Hope this helps,

Ota

Robert,

'B' Flight of No.73 Squadron (S/L More, F/O Kain, P/O McGaw, Sgt Friend, P/O Smith) were involved during a patrol 06.20 - 07.40 hours when Blue Section attacked a Do17 over Reims which was last seen gliding down with both engines stopped . Bf109s of 7./JG53 intervened and More & Kain both returned to Echemines with damage to their aircraft.

Re: 73 Sqn 05.06.40

Ok Thanks.

Sorry that my question was wrongly constructed. I was after any further claim for Do 17.

Regards

Robert
