Re: identify unknown parade square

Can you confirm the unit please? I'm not able to find any mention of a WW-2 Jäger Rgt 6. Lexikon has Jäger Rgt 20 as the first one, with Gebirgsjäger Rgt 13 being the first one for that arm of the Heer. And can you confirm the Kompanie as the one mentioned is far too high. Most battalions consisted of 5-6 Kompanies at most with regiments consisting of a combined total of between 12 & 20 (depending on how many battalions there were.)

Re: identify unknown parade square

Hello,
Can the Bridge in the background be an aid to the identity of the Parade ground ?

Re: identify unknown parade square

When you change the numbers: there was a 46. Lufwaffe-Jägerregiment, part of the 16. Luftwaffe Felddivision...

It had Kompanie 1-8 and also 13 and 14.

I believe this division was in the Netherlands in 1943-44 or so before moving to France, where it fell under the 21. Panzer Division.

Regards,

Leendert

By the Way, I crossed the Bridge by Train just 30 hours ago - some of the baracks are still there...

Smile Well known Parade square !

This Photo is Easy to Identify:
It shows the old infantary baracks at RENDSBURG, a town in the North of Germany. The bridge in the background is crossing the Kiel Canal (in those days
called KAISER WILHELM KANAL). I am 100% sure for that!
Seems the soldiers belongs to the INFANTERIE REGIMENT 46.
Do you have further photos from this Unit / Barack ?

Best wishes
