looking for GQM1107

Good evening,

I am looking for the GQM1107 corresponding to the crash of a Dewoitine 520 (N 693) that occured on 4 November 1943 near Tarbes in the south west of France;
Tomasch Rudolf was on board (killed), after disorientation due to fog and crashed/burnt on ground.

The reason is that I will be writing a report on this crash after finding parts of this very aircraft.

Thanks to all.

GC

Re: looking for GQM1107

Hello, Gilles.

This is how the accident is registered in the GenQu listings:

http://www.aviationhistory.no/ref_db...?lossid=166797

He was apparantly flying with Uffz. August Malle at the time:

Regards,
Andreas B

Re: looking for GQM1107

Thanks you very much Andreas,

you are right, they crashed the same day due to fog and I found both crash sites;

If anybody has an idea on how find relatives/family of Rudi Thomash or August Malle ? I would be delighted..

Andreas: a couple of discrepancies to be noted.
- the report you mailed me (first one, crash in Lannemezan) states D520 Wnr 1107 whereas Matti has Wnr 693. I Believe 693 is the good one because the D520 was built up to WNr 905.
- and your sp
elling of the name of the pilot is "Thomasch" whereas Matti has "Tomasch". How could we check ?

have a nice day,

Gilles Collaveri

Re: looking for GQM1107

Hello Gilles,

from NVM:

Uffz August Malles, Jagdschüler, D 520, WNr. 505, lost orientation in fog and hit hill.

Uffz Rudolf Tomasch, Hilfsjagdlehrer, D 520, WNr. 693, lost orientation in fog and hit hill. The reported next relative was his mother Maria Tomasch, so "Tomasch" without "Th" seems to be okay.

HTH

Carl

Re: looking for GQM1107

Thanks Carl,

is there on the NVM any information about Tomasch's mother's city or village that could help me trace the family ?

Thanks

Gilles

Re: looking for GQM1107

Malle (not Malles) was born Feldkirchen 28 Nov 22 and was killed at Ste Arromand (?)
Tomasch (not Thomasch) was born 2 Sep 20 at Oberlangenau and was killed at Lannemezan
