Quadrat (Grid?) references

I have been given 9 quadrat(grid?) references for the turning points of routine Wekusta flights to the west of Ireland that I would like to convert to latitude/longitude, for example 25W3560 or 25W2430. Is there a website that would help me make the conversions?

Google for the wonderful LUMA tool and guide on the excellent gyges.dk site.

Re: Quadrat (Grid?) references

My thanks, although I'm afraid I find the instructions difficult to understand/follow. I think I've the right answers (about 54N 12W), but it's very confusing to a stranger.

Re: Quadrat (Grid?) references

My thanks for confirming the positions Frankie.

My reason for raising the question in the first place is that Kington and Selinger's book, Wekusta, contains three maps purporting to show the tracks flown by the Wekustas. My interest is the track flown by Wekusta 2 (northwest from Brest) but the three maps are completely different, one has a turning point at about 58N 13-14 W (west of Benbecula off the Scottish coast), another at about 52N 14-15 W, and the third at about 56.5N 13-14W.

The quadrats I'd been given cover December 1941 to August 1943, and although to my untrained eye the turning points appeared different at first sight, on converting them to lat and long they are all in the same area - 53.5 to 54.5 N and 11.5 to 12.5 W.

My thanks again for all who have replied - on and off-board.

Brian
